In order to effectively plan and look towards developing useful tools in support of perinatal people’s well-being, FC secured a funding grant through the Daymark Foundation and proceeded with a needs assessment. Our research team was brought together to work with FC and meet the following objectives:
- Engage with family support centers to better understand how providers perceive current services, programs and supports for perinatal people.
- Identify unmet and current needs of perinatal people and service providers in order to shape future programming.
- Work with Families Canada to identify existing and forthcoming programs and resources for perinatal people.
Our findings informed a set of recommendations that together form an action plan for moving forward.
